Year 2 Communication Skills 2019

On the 27th of August third and fourth year medical students volunteered their time to help out at the YACMA Communication Skills Workshop. This was organized for the second year students, who sit a communication skills assessment in their curriculum. The workshop gave the second year students the opportunity to practice with others who have previously gone through the same experience. Two second years were paired up with an older medical student to allow them to thoroughly practice their history taking skills with a wide variety of scenarios until they felt comfortable and confident about it. Any questions or worries about the assessment were addressed as well as tips on how to approach the patient interaction. The workshop was thoroughly helpful for the second year students and we are very appreciative of all the helpers that came.
