Health Stalls

ACMA run health stalls at large community events. These are supervised by ACMA doctors and operated by medical students. These involve checking multiple physical parameters e.g., blood pressure, as well as offering general medical advice. Past events have included the Auckland Chinese Community Centre (ACCC) Chinese New Year Festival, Botany Community Day, ACCC Children’s Day and Flu Fighters vaccination clinics.

Visual Media

Chinese Health Awareness Initiative NZ (CHAINZ) was established to reach out and connect with the Chinese population. Working with World TV medical and allied health speakers presented on live TV talk shows. In 2020 ACMA worked with local health authorities to release multilingual videos on COVID- 19 (Image opposite: in conjunction with Health Navigator New Zealand). The videos were posted on social media, network emails, Ministry of Health and DHB websites. That year, ACMA worked with Asian Family services on mental health videos.

And More!

ACMA is constantly involved within the Asian community; we have helped to translate patient education pamphlets, created a directory of doctors of different Asian language skills and have contributed to various newsletters and magazines. ACMA works with community groups and more recently has collaborated with the Flu Fighters collective and The Asian Network Incorporated to provide education opportunities to the public.
